Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have an instrument at home?

Regular practice is an important part of learning, so having an instrument at home would be highly recommended. There are plenty of fantastic options including rentals, high quality budget options and second hand instruments that can lessen the stress and risks of investing in music at a formative stage. We would be more than happy to discuss options and make suggestions!

Does my child need to bring their instrument to school?

No everything needed would be provided! Students are asked to bring their books to every lesson so relevant feedback and practice pointers can be provided regularly. Some students prefer using their own guitars, ukuleles, etc and are more than welcome to bring them to lessons at school.

What if there is an excursion at the time of my child’s scheduled lesson?

If school commitments, such as excursions, incursions, etc, impact on the lessons running at their usual times, they will be marked as ‘Make Up Required’, and the lesson will be rescheduled during the term.

What happens if I/my child can’t attend their lesson?

When someone is unable to attend their scheduled lesson, we ask for 24 hours notice. If 24 hours or more notice is provided, then the lesson will either be offered as an online lesson at their regular time, or marked as ‘Make Up Required’, where the lesson will be provided at a later date.

If less than 24 hours notice is given, then the lesson will be marked as a ‘No Show’, and will be considered honoured.

What happens if my teacher can’t attend my child’s lesson?

We’ll do everything we can to cover the lesson so no disruption occurs. On the times when this isn’t possible, the lesson will be marked as ‘Make Up Required’ and we’ll reschedule the lesson for a later date within the term. By the end of the term, any remaining ‘Make Up Required’ lessons caused by teacher absence will be offered as an online lesson over the school break, will be carried over to the next term, or refunded as decided by you. You will never be charged for a lesson that is missed due to our absence.
